Superbe travail, tout y est, finitions, design, réalisation et outils faits maison. Une vraie mine d'or pour tous.
Encore bravo.

After fretting the scale came the finishing.
After September 11, several things could not be shipped by plain so it was a big draw back for me because I couldn't find in Portugal, Nitro to finish my guitar
so after reading and browsing a lot the web I've found KTM9 that is a water base varnish that could be shipped by plane.
It as a big advantage, is not toxic and could be applied in doors without special requirements.
One thing that make me a bit concerned was the softness of the POPLAR wood "popeliér", I needed to hardened it to avoid its integrity.
I've use ZPOXY, a resin with two components, the resin it self ,and a hardener that needed to be mixed 50% by 50%. There are two kinds of ZPOXY, one that hardens in 5 minutes and another that hardens in 30 minutes. We don't need be very accurate as some resins do.
We can applied it with a credit cart over the top if it is flat, but like my case, that is round, I use my fingers with nitro gloves, it gives you more control. There are out there a lot of information regarding the ZPOXY.
Poplar wood have some holes in it, so to leveling it I, using 5 minutes Zpoxy

.

Its a 13 pin output midi jack
The bridge as piezo saddles and a Graph Tech MIDI HEXPANDER
So I can play a guitar synthesizer or another midi device

Don't forget to leave a quick summary of your (remarkable) guitar build so I can add it to the index.
Take a look at
this forum entry to see how the summary should look like

It's been a will, that I've intended to build a guitar that fits the sound and my kind of playing, I've read, bought books and browse a lot several Luthier Forums.
There are a lot of people out there with fantastic ideas and wiling to share and to do better and that can compete with main guitar brands.
My interest in sharing my build with you all, was because, what I have learned, should be shared to people that may also have difficulties and could learn something about it.
I wanted to use good materials to get a good instrument and this was very risky to me because undertaking such a project without having build a guitar before and not knowing
mush about electronics, doing some thing wrong would cost me a lot of money
In the beginning my project was to build a Ibanez Jem copy because of the body design, I even bought some templates, but I've ended build something different.
I've design in Adobe Illustrator the guitar and all the templates needed (this was a good learning experience).
So this is the list of Wood, Hardware, and Electronics:
WOOD
BODY
- Topset- Poplar
- Downset- Mahogany
NECK
- Maple
- Wenge
- Ebony
- Poplar
FINISHING
- ZPOXY resin
- KTM9 water base varnish
INLAY
- Abalone strips
- Mother of Pearl
- MOP dots
HARDWARE
Bridge- ETS (BassParts)
Machine Heads - Sperzel
Brass pickup wrings
Strap butons - Warwick
Nut - Graph Tech
Jumbo frets
Electronics
- 2 -EMG X89 active pickups
- 1 -EMG After Burner
- 1 -Graph Tech Midi Hexpander
- 6 -piezo saddles ETS (BassParts)
- 2 -9 volts battery
-64,5 cm Scale
-24 frets
...and a lot of doubts, work and a lot praying, for not doing a mess

But in the end every thing went ok

It seems like the head is not a the same thickness. Look the B and E tuners, they're not lined up with the other's top

This is the template that I've design in Adobe Illustrator
The headstock as a curve hedge, and I've projected that curve to align them all :o

Hi you all
I would like to talk to you about my guitar Headstock,
When I was planning my guitar I saw at "projectguitar.ibforums.com" that amazing headstock from Rad, and I thought I could use it in mine, I don't want to you get the idea that it is my own design and know I want to give him his due credits
I also would like to share with you guys his amazing artistry from whom I've learn a lot. :linux:
I hope you guys learn something from him like I did.
